West Bromwich Albion are reportedly close to signing the Wales international.

Wales' Hal Robson-Kanu scores their second goal

According to Sky Sports’ live transfer feed (14:47) Hal Robson-Kanu has been given permission to leave the Wales training to settle his future, with West Bromwich Albion believed to be his destination.

The 27-year-old is a free agent after leaving Reading but his performances at Euro 2016 put him well and truly in the proverbial shop window.

It is now being claimed that West Brom – who have had a relatively quiet transfer window to date – could be set to secure the winger-cum-striker’s services after he headed to The Hawthorns for a medical.

It is worth noting that Robson-Kanu’s situation means that a deal could still be concluded after the transfer window slams shut this evening, so Baggies fans need not panic if a deal is not announced prior to the deadline.

The Wales star featured 228 times for Reading, scoring 30 goals and providing 26 assists in the process.

He has also turned out for Southend United and Swindon Town in the past and a move to West Brom at this stage of his career could be exactly what he needs to fulfil his potential.
