According to Milan News, AC Milan will not budge on their offer to Arsenal target Hakan Calhanoglu this summer.

It’s claimed that Milan offered Calhanoglu a salary of around €4million (£66,000-a-week), but that was deemed ‘unsatisfactory’.

Calhanoglu and his agent have ‘reconnected’ with Milan in the last few days to try and thrash out a deal, but Milan will not offer more – meaning Calhanoglu is looking to leave.

Could Arsenal now sign Calhanoglu?

Arsenal seem to be a prime candidate, especially having missed out on Emiliano Buendia and with Martin Odegaard likely to cost huge money.

In May, Milan Live claimed that Arsenal were one of just three options Calhanogu had with his contract expiring hit summer.

Calhanoglu allegedly wants around £83,000-a-week with his next club, and Arsenal do have a connection to his agent; he also represents Sead Kolasinac.

How did Calhanoglu perform last season?

The Turkish international racked up nine goals and 12 assists in 43 games across all competitions last season – a quite impressive return.

Calhanoglu was once branded ‘the new Ozil’ by Winfried Schafer, and that assist record suggests that he could help replace Ozil at Arsenal.

Available for free, Calhanoglu is likely to be on Edu’s list. Saturday’s developments over Buendia mean Arsenal are again looking at their options, and Calhanoglu could be a bargain.
