Leeds United are reportedly set to sign Hadi Sacko on a three-year contract.

According to France Football, Leeds United are set to hand a three-year contract winger Hadi Sacko, with Sporting Lisbon allegedly set to receive €2.3million (£2million) for his services.
Sacko, 23, struggled to make an impact with Sporting following a 2014 move from French side Bordeaux, and after a loan spell with Sochaux, he headed to England last summer with Leeds.

The Whites landed the Frenchman on a season-long loan deal, and it’s fair to say that Sacko’s time at Elland Road has mostly been up and down, with many impressed by his pace but also critical of his end product – or lack thereof.
With just two goals and three assists in 38 Championship appearances, it was unclear whether the winger had done enough to win a permanent move to West Yorkshire; but he appears to have done so.

France Football claim that Sacko will sign a three-year contract with Leeds imminently, with a fee of €2.3million (£2million) being claimed – a fairly considerable deal for a player who doesn’t appear to be the finished product just yet.
Handing Sacko a three-year deal without a manager in place is also something of a gamble, but owner Andrea Readrizzani must be convinced that the new boss, whoever that may be following Garry Monk’s shock departure, can get the best out of Sacko.

A three-year contract does give Sacko real security at Elland Road, which will hopefully help him settle with the Whites and improve the end product that was so often his Achilles heel this season, with Sacko still possessing real potential to develop.
If the reports are true, Sacko will become Leeds’ first signing of the summer, but he should be the last piece of permanent business done before the club can announce a new manager and allow them to bring in their own signings.
