Everton midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson could yet be set to stay with Swansea City.

According to Wales Online, Gylfi Sigurdsson’s proposed move to Everton is becoming increasingly unlikely.

Everton have seen two bids rejected for Sigurdsson so far this summer, with Swansea City not budging on their valuation of the Icelandic international.

Swansea want £50 million for Sigurdsson, and Everton have refused to meet their asking price so far.

The 28-year-old was said to have told Swansea that he wanted the move to Goodison Park, and he was left off their pre-season tour.

However, Sigurdsson has started training with Swansea again now and there is a confidence around the Welsh side that they will be able to keep their lead creator.

Indeed Paul Clement is said to be planning for the new season with Sigurdsson in his starting line-up.

Whether Everton will return with a third bid remains to be seen, but they have much still to sort out if they are to complete a deal.

And it suggested by Wales Online that Everton may turn their attention to other targets now, leaving Sigurdsson to stay with Swansea.
