Southampton are reportedly looking to tie up a deal for Spartak Moscow’s Quincy Promes.
Quincy Promes of the Netherlands
According to The Mirror, Southampton are set to follow up a deal for Monaco striker Guido Carrillo by snapping up Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes for £30million.
The Saints claimed a respectable 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, but manager Mauricio Pellegrino remains under pressure after 11 games without a victory.
Goals have been hard to come by for Southampton this season, and it seems that manager Pellegrino is set to spend the windfall from Virgil van Dijk’s move to Liverpool on attacking reinforcements.

The Mirror claim that a £19million deal for Monaco’s Guido Carrillo – who worked with manager Pellegrino at Estudiantes in their native Argentina – is on the verge of completion, and Pellegrino will look to splash £30million on Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes.
Nathan Redmond hasn’t made much of an impact this season, meaning that finding a winger who can make a real impact is a priority, and Dutch international Promes – a teammate of Van Dijk – fits the bill.
The former Twente star, 26, has excelled for Spartak since his 2014 move to Russia, notching 53 goals and 22 assists in just 101 appearances for the club, whilst he also hit two goals and two assists in five Champions League outings this season.

Promes has blistering pace and a real eye for goal, with manager Pellegrino no doubt hoping that he and Carrillo can combine to inject some life into the Southampton attack.
At £30million, Promes would be Southampton’s record signing, and they would be expecting a major impact from the Dutchman, who has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs over the years.
