Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Sun.

It has been reported that Guardiola wants to sign a long-term replacement for star striker Sergio Aguero and Kane has been his first choice.

However, according to the British tabloid, City know that ‘it would be impossible’ to sign the England international striker from Premier League rivals Tottenham this year.

The report has added that City are now focusing on securing the services of Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan, with the 23-year-old Argentina international having a release clause of £81 million.

Tottenham Hotspur stay

Kane is one of the best strikers in the world, and, at the age of 27, he is at the peak of his powers and at his prime.

Tottenham are unlikely to sell the England international striker this summer even for a lot of money, as they need his goals to finish in the top four of the Premier League table next season, and he is also a huge favourite among the fans.

Kane was affected by injuries last season, and the 27-year-old will be determined to bang in the goals for Spurs in 2020-21.
