Manchester City are reportedly keen to bring Aaron Mooy back to the Etihad Stadium.

According to ESPN, Manchester City are considering activating their £20million buy-back clause on Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy amid interest from West Ham United.
City swooped to land Mooy from sister club Melbourne City in the summer of 2016, but immediately loaned him out to Huddersfield, where he hit four goals and seven assists to help the Terriers win promotion to the Premier League.
The Australian international made his move permanent last summer, and he impressed in the top flight, notching four goals and three assists to achieve Premier League survival with David Wagner’s men.

Mooy, 27, as now earned a reputation as one of the most underrated midfielders in the Premier League, and it seems that former club Manchester City are taking notice.

ESPN report that City have a £20million buy-back clause in Mooy’s deal, and manager Pep Guardiola is considering activating that in order to lure him back to the Etihad Stadium, though he never actually made an appearance for the club.
City are in the market for a new midfielder, and whilst there have been strong links to Napoli ace Jorginho, Mooy may now emerge as an easy target to come in and offer cover behind Fernandinho in midfield.

Mooy is currently at the World Cup with Australia, and with Everton and West Ham United allegedly keen, City may now swoop in and activate their clause before either team can make a move.
That would initially scupper any move away for Mooy, but City may yet choose to activate the clause and then attempt to sell Mooy on for a profit, meaning West Ham should certainly keep tabs on the situation in the coming weeks.
