Guangzhou Evergrande reportedly want to sign West Ham United’s Marko Arnautovic in the January transfer window.
It has been reported that the Chinese club are in talks regarding the transfer of the 29-year-old Austria international, who can operate as a forward or as a winger.
West Ham have already reportedly turned down an offer of £35 million for Arnautovic from Chinese Super League club for Shanghai SIPG.
“West Ham had previously stated that Arnautovic was not for sale but Sky Sports News has learned their stance on a transfer being completed has softened somewhat,” adds the report on Skysports.com.
Exit on the cards?
Arnautovic is one of the best players in the current West Ham team, and there is no doubt that the Austrian will be a big loss for the Hammers.
However, if the forward wants to leave the London Stadium and clubs are willing to pay a lot of money for him, then West Ham should at least consider it.
After all, there is no point in keeping hold of a player who clearly does not want to be at the club.
West Ham do have enough attacking players to end the season without having to fight against relegation to the Championship.
