The Fulham player has been linked with Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur but one could hold the advantage if he does move on.

According to a report from ESPN, there is a growing feeling at Manchester United that target Ryan Sessegnon intends to stay in London even if he leaves Fulham this summer, and that could be great news for rival suitors Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have long been linked with the left-sided player, who is equally adept as a full-back or a winger, and while it would take a sizable bid to convince the Cottagers to do business, the belief that he wants to remain in the capital could make Mauricio Pochettino’s side the only viable option.

With doubts remaining over the long-term future of Danny Rose, and Tottenham in need of additional quality on the wing, Sessegnon could solve one problem now and another later in his career, and while there are often lazy comparisons in football, the 17-year-old has the potential to be the next Gareth Bale.

With seven goals and four assists in 35 matches for Fulham, Sessegnon is already proving his quality, but after signing a professional contract with the Championship side until the summer of 2020, he will not come cheap.

Tottenham need players to strengthen key positions and Sessegnon is one of the best left-sided youngsters in Europe.

In time he has the potential to grow into a superstar for club and country; the only question is: Which club will benefit from that long term?

Sessegnon may favour a switch to Tottenham if and when he does leave his current side, but Spurs will have to dig deep to get him, whenever that may be.
