Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to miss out on Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

According to The Mirror, Aston Villa’s new investors have told playmaker Jack Grealish that he isn’t going anywhere, blocking a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Grealish, 22, has come up through the ranks with his boyhood club Villa, and whilst he lost his way at one point, he starred last season with three goals and six assists in 30 outings.
The playmaker was vital for Steve Bruce’s side, but he couldn’t drive Villa back to the Premier League as Fulham beat Villa 1-0 in the Championship play-off final back in May.
That defeat sparked a number of financial issues for Villa, and Grealish looked set for an exit to raise funds, with Tottenham Hotspur particularly keen on securing his signature this summer.
However, The Mirror now report that Villa’s new owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, have pumped money into the club and have told Grealish that he will be staying put this summer rather than sealing a late move.
Tottenham had been biding their time and hoping to land Grealish for just £20million, but Villa’s new funding means that such a deal is no longer on the table, at least according to the latest reports.

If true, Spurs fans would no doubt be furious with chairman Daniel Levy for waiting and waiting on a target that Spurs could have snapped up weeks ago, and he now appears to be unavailable.
With no new signings brought in this summer, Spurs need to get busy in the final weeks of the transfer window, and potentially look for alternatives to Grealish.
