Newly-appointed Granada head coach Tony Adams wants to sign Phil Jagielka from Everton in the summer transfer window, according to The Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 69, April 16, 2017).

Adams was recently appointed as the Granada head coach and will remain in charge of the team until the end the season before returning to his role to restructure the club.

The Arsenal legend had been working at Granada since November and is the vice-president of the company owned by Granada president John Jiang, according to BBC Sport.

The former England international defender reportedly wants to bring in Jagielka from Everton in the summer.

According to the report, Adams wants to sign the 34-year-old former Sheffield United centre-back because of his know-how and experience.

The problem that Granada could face is that if they get relegated from La Liga at the end of the season, then it would not be an attractive move for Jagielka.

The England international still has a few years left at the top level, and he may not be willing to play in the second division in Spain.
