According to Jeunes Footeux, Graham Potter now wants to bring Everton target Jonathan David to Chelsea in January.
Everton face Chelsea competition for Jonathan David
Well, the French news outlet believe the Blues are keen to sign a new striker this winter, and have settled on the Canada international.
It comes after Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany revealed that Everton are also interested in David.
Jeunes Footeux add that Chelsea will have to make a bid worth €60m (£52m) to convince Lille to open negotiations over a deal, with the Ligue 1 side’s No.9 under contract until July 2025.
Interest in David comes after he began the 2022/23 campaign on fire, scoring nine goals in 11 appearances so far this season, while also providing two assists.

Impressively, the Canadian has outscored Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in Ligue 1, sitting joint-top of the scoring charts alongside Neymar.
Jeunes Footeux also mention that David is open to leaving Lille in January, so a respectable offer from Chelsea or Everton could see a deal materialise.
Chelsea or Everton could land a special talent in Jonathan David
Whoever manages to lure David away from Lille would be getting themselves a quality forward.
Aside from his excellent form at domestic level this season, the New York-born striker also boasts a phenomenal record at international level.
In 30 appearances for Canada, David has remarkably scored 20 goals.
Perhaps what is most impressive about David, however, is his consistency – he is far from a flash in the pan.
The Lille wonderkid scored 19 goals in 48 appearances last season to put his name up in lights, having netted 13 goals in the campaign prior to that one.
Before his move to Lille, David also managed to score 37 goals in just 83 appearances for KAA Gent, all before the end of his teenage years.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Everton and Chelsea get set to fight for the Canadian prodigy.
