Alasdair Gold has played down the chances of Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Winks and Dele Alli leaving in January in Football London.

Winks and Alli have both been linked with the exit door at Tottenham, with the pair currently struggling to break into Jose Mourinho’s preferred line-up.

Their lack of game time has led to doubts around their futures emerging.

However, buying either of them off Tottenham in the new year will apparently be difficult.

Some Spurs insiders apparently believe that Alli can turn things around in North London still, despite his recent difficulties.

Winks, meanwhile, is said to be ‘unhappy’ about his minutes at Spurs this season – but the club will not want to offload him mid-term, as they are pushing for the title.

Tottenham’s stance over the pair is understandable, as Winks and Alli remain quality players.

Their ability has never really been in doubt, but whether they actually fit into Mourinho’s favoured system very much remains to be seen.

Winks was a regular starter for Spurs last season, but the arrival of Pierre Emile Hojbjerg seems to have knocked him out of favour, while Alli has plenty of players ahead of him in the pecking order.
