The Rangers winger’s exit was reportedly sanctioned by the Ibrox boss, Steven Gerrard.

Glenn Middleton’s proposed Rangers exit has been thrown into doubt, according to The Scottish Sun.
The newspaper claims the Rangers winger was due to join Doncaster on a season-long loan deal.
But it adds that after Donny lost their Rangers-supporting manager, Grant McCann, to Hull on Friday, Middleton’s future is now ‘hanging in the balance’.
It is McCann who did all the groundwork on the deal with Rangers, according to The Scottish Sun.

And it remains to be seen whether or not he will revive his pursuit of Middleton now he is at the KCOM Stadium.
Interest is said to be mounting in the Hull winger, Jarrod Bowen, and Middleton, who played in all six of Rangers’ Europa League group stage fixtures last season, could prove a useful replacement should Bowen depart.

And the Scotland Under-21 international – not to mention Rangers and their manager, Steven Gerrard – would surely favour a Championship move if an opportunity arose.
