Frank Lampard is not on Glasgow Rangers’ final three man shortlist to become their next manager, Sky Sports report.
Lampard to Rangers?
Lampard had been thought to be under ‘serious consideration’ by Rangers as they line up a replacement for Steven Gerrard.
However, it seems that the Ibrox side have turned their back on the rookie boss, as they zero in on their new target.
Sky only name Giovani Van Bronckhorst as a potential candidate to takeover, but they say there are two other possibilities to land the vacancy.
Looking elsewhere
Van Bronckhorst has held talks with Rangers and his views are said to align with the boards.
Lampard never got as far as the interview stage, but it seems it has been decided that he is not the right man currently.

If he had taken over, he would have done so with a point to prove.
Lampard has been questioned following Chelsea’s improvements after his sacking.
Lampard does already have a proven track record of bringing young players through, though.
Rangers still have just under a week until they are next in action again, which could give them increased time to think about who they will put in charge for the long-term, as the search continues.
