According to a report in the Daily Record, Glasgow Rangers are not close to making any managerial appointment at this moment in time.

Rangers parted company with Mark Warburton two weekends ago, but they are still looking for their next permanent manager.

At the moment, Rangers have put Graeme Murty in caretaker charge, but defeat to Dundee last weekend has put pressure on the Light Blues to find a new boss to place in charge for the long term.

Rangers were beaten 2-1 by Dundee, in what was a terrible result for the Light Blues.

At the moment Alex McLeish is thought to be the favourite to take charge at Rangers, after admitting he would be interested in a role at Ibrox.

However, according to the Record, no appointment is even close to be being made at the Glasgow side.

Rangers are expected to leave Murty in charge for their next fixture, which comes on Friday night against Inverness.

Rangers are currently in third place in the Scottish Premiership table, six points behind Aberdeen.
