Glasgow Rangers have been very active so far in the transfer market. The Gers have already signed Portuguese defender Bruno Alves, and if the reports are to be believed, more signings are expected to follow.

According to reports from The Daily Record, Rangers are leading the chase for Benfica winger Daniel Candeias. However, the Ibrox outfit are facing a tough competition from Turkish club Alanyaspor in their bid to sign the 29-year-old forward.

The report states that Rangers are “edging ever closer” to secure a double-deal for Candeias and his Benfica team-mate Dalcio.

Candeias has enjoyed a successful loan spell in Turkey, where he scored four goals in 28 games.

Alanyaspor are keen to hold on to the Portuguese winger. However, The Daily Record reports that “moves are almost finalised” for the Benfica pair.

Candeias, the former Porto player, joined Benfica in 2014 but he is yet to play a single game for the Eagles, and has spent the past three seasons on loan at Nurnberg, Granada, Metz and Alanyaspor.

Rangers are looking to seal a permanent move for Candeias, and are targeting to sign Dalcio on a temporary basis.
