According to a report in the Daily Express, Glasgow Rangers are considering appointing Alan Irvine.

Rangers are looking for a new manager, following the departure of Mark Warburton two weekends ago.

Alex McLeish is the current favourite to take over at Ibrox, but the Express claims that Irvine is being considered by the Glasgow side.

Rangers are interviewing potential candidates this week, and Irvine appears to be in the frame to land the job.

The former West Bromwich Albion boss is believed to be interested in taking over at Rangers.

Rangers are not close to making an appointment at this stage, though, with the board at Ibrox determined not to rush into picking their choice.

The Light Blues are believed to want to put a director of football in charge, before they put a new permanent manager in charge.

Graeme Murty is expected to be in charge of Rangers’ next match against Inverness on Friday.
