According to the Scottish Sun, Glasgow Rangers are interested in signing Brandon Barker from Manchester City this summer.

Barker spent last season out on loan at Hibernian and his performances impressed Rangers’ scouts.

Steven Gerrard has now put the youngster on his transfer wishlist at Ibrox, with Rangers pushing for a deal.

To get the transfer over the line, Rangers are going to have to beat off competition from Hibernian and a number of Championship sides.

Rangers could actually have signed Barker last term, but Pedro Caixinha reportedly refused to make a move, when he was told the youngster would be a valuable addition at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Barker ended up scoring once and claiming four assists in 22 appearances for Hibs, with his ability catching the eye.

Barker appears to have no first-team future at Manchester City, so Pep Guardiola’s side are unlikely to stand in his way, if Rangers do come in for the 21-year-old this summer.
