Micah Richards has failed to play for Aston Villa this season.

The Birmingham Mail have claimed Aston Villa defender Micah Richards is expected to remain in the Midlands until the end of his contract despite being one of the club’s top earners.
The 29-year-old is said to be earning a whopping £50,000 a week at the Midlands outfit, according to the Daily Star, but has failed to make a single appearance for the Midlands giants this season.

In fact, the former England international has appeared just once under Steve Bruce since the promotion expert took control at Villa Park more than a year ago in October 2016.
But despite his jaw-dropping wages, the report claims Villa club chiefs expect the former Manchester City and Fiorentina defender to remain at Villa Park until his contract ends – which is set to expire in June 2019.

It is believed that Bruce is willing to keep the forgotten Villa man in and around the first team due to his bubbly personality, acting as a boost to the camaraderie and morale within the squad.
He was included in the 18-man squad that lost to Middlesbrough in September, but that has been his only first-team squad appearance this term. It could well be his last.
