Tottenham Hotspur still plan to have their new stadium built in time for the new season.

Tottenham Hotspur are battling against the clock to complete their new stadium ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Delaying moving in and spending another season at Wembley is their back-up plan, but more likely if it is not quite ready is that Spurs just ask the Premier League not to give them any home fixtures for the first 2-3 games of the season.

The Mail report Tottenham have construction workers active around the clock on the £800 million new stadium, which is yet to be formally named.

The report states building will really kick into gear early in 2018, once the roof is on: “Spurs expect the roof to be on by spring which should see the £800million development accelerate to completion.”

The new stadium is also set to host NFL games, although the venues for the 2018 London series have yet to be announced.

Work has already begun on the new stadium’s internal facilities, which will include a glass tunnel from which fans can see the players as they walk through from the dressing room to the pitch.

The new stadium will seat 61,000 supporters, making it the biggest Premier League ground in London.
