Thanks to ESPN, we have been given some insight into how much money Antonio Conte will be allowed to spend at Tottenham in January.

What’s the story?

Well, the January transfer window opens tomorrow, marking Conte’s first opportunity to strengthen the Spurs squad he inherited from Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Italian has already spoken about assessing his players, and admitted he now knows who he can trust, and also who he cannot rely on.

Now, we have been told by ESPN that Conte will be given significant funds by Daniel Levy as he looks to build a side capable of qualifying for the Champions League.

Spurs currently sit seventh in the Premier League, five points behind Arsenal who reside in fourth place.

Conte’s impact in such a short space of time has certainly been noticeable, although he may need more firepower if he is to get Tottenham into the Champions League.

Which transfers might Antonio Conte make for Tottenham?

Interestingly, Football London believe Conte wants a left-sided central defender.

One man who fits the bill is the left-footed Barcelona centre-back Clement Lenglet, who Gerard Romero believes is a target for Spurs.

Conte is also said to be keen on Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie, as he looks to add more quality in the middle of the park (Calciomercato).

Neither Tanguy Ndombele or Giovani Lo Celso have done much to impress Conte since he replaced Nuno, so you can’t blame the Italian for wanting different options.

Keep an eye on Spurs in January, as we expect Conte to be busy.
