According to The Chronicle, Giovanni van Bronckhorst is interested in becoming the next Newcastle United boss.
It’s claimed that Van Bronckhorst was ‘very keen’ on becoming Magpies manager in the summer of 2019, when Steve Bruce was picked.
The Dutchman is now interested once again, and will hope it’s second time lucky – if Newcastle part ways with Bruce some time soon, that is.
Van Bronckhorst recently left Chinese side Guangzhou R&F, where he had a mixed record; seven wins, six draws and 10 defeats.
At Feyenoord, Van Bronckhorst won almost 61% of his games in charge, and led the Rotterdam side to a stunning title win back in 2017.
Van Bronckhorst won two domestic cups too, so he does have credentials that Newcastle would be looking for if Bruce goes.

Bruce is under huge pressure having won two games in his last 18 in the Premier League, with relegation now a major threat for the Magpies.
Bruce’s future should be up for debate this summer, and Van Bronckhorst represents a very interesting alternative as a fairly young manager with silverware on his CV.
