Nottingham Forest will allegedly consider Burnley’s Ben Gibson if they fail to land Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna this summer.

The Reds, along with Queens Park Rangers, failed with a reported £3 million bid for McKenna but the report reveals that they will go back with an improved bid to test Aberdeen’s resolve this summer.
However, Forest have already lined up an alternative if they fail to land the Scotsman and the report claims that it is Burnley’s Ben Gibson.
The former Middlesbrough man has had a shocking season for the Clarets for whom he featured just once all season. Gibson is deemed surplus to requirements with Ben Mee and James Tarkowski both ahead of him in the pecking order.
Gibson would be a very smart addition to Forest in the centre of their defence and after a torrid season at Turf Moor, a move away will be perfect for the centre-half to restart his career. The 26-year-old’s failure to impress have been truly surprising considering how vital he was for Boro before he made the switch.

At 26, Gibson still has a lot of time on his hands to get back to his best and regular game time away from Turf Moor will suit all parties involved.
However, Forest will have to shell out a lot more than £3 million to get the Burnley man as Sean Dyche’s side will be looking to recoup as much of the £15 million that they paid for him last summer as possible this window.
