According to the Daily Record, Rangers are set to sign Bongani Zungu on loan from Amiens following a lengthy pursuit.
It’s claimed that Rangers have struck a loan deal to sign the South African, which will include a permanent option.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been pursuing Zungu for much of the summer, and it looked like a deal had collapsed in August.
The move is now back on, and Zungu is expected to be confirmed as a Rangers player before the transfer window shuts tonight.
Zungu, 27, suffered relegation with Amiens last season, and is now set for a move to Scotland in order to try and get his career back on track.
Formerly of Mamelodi Sundowns and Vitoria de Guimaraes, Zungu is a combative midfielder with ability on the ball, and he can either protect the back four or play box-to-box.

There have been concerns about Zungu’s fitness and injury history, so Rangers striking a loan deal with a view to a permanent deal certainly makes sense.
Rangers needed another body in midfield, and Zungu now looks set to be that player as the Gers finish up their transfer business.
