Rangers are hoping to keep youngster Josh McPake at Ibrox.

According to the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard and Mark Allen are desperate to keep Rangers teenager Josh McPake at Ibrox amid interest from Liverpool.
The Gers are hoping to bring through a host of young talents to supplement Gerrard’s squad, with a number of players touted for bright futures.
Aidan Wilson, Stephen Kelly, Zak Rudden, Andrew Dallas, Dapo Mebude and Nathan Young-Coombes are just a host of names being highly-regarded in the Ibrox ranks – and McPake is another.
Primarily a winger, McPake has shown promise in the Rangers academy this season, and has been given chances to train with Gerrard’s first team this season.
The 17-year-old – a Scotland youth international – may well be given a chance to shine in pre-season, but the Daily Record report that Rangers are now facing a battle to keep him.
Liverpool are thought to be keen on luring McPake away from Ibrox, with Borussia Monchengladbach and Roma believed to be interested too, meaning Gerrard and director of football Allen are now working desperately to make sure McPake stays.

Rangers lost top talent Billy Gilmour to Chelsea in 2017, and won’t want to lose another hot prospect in McPake during this summer’s transfer window.
McPake has a year left on his Rangers deal, meaning the Gers don’t have a huge amount of time to make sure the former Hibs man stays out of Liverpool’s clutches, but remains with Gerrard.
