Millwall midfielder George Saville is still a target for Tony Pulis’ Middlesbrough side.
According to the Gazette, Middlesbrough are set to go back for Millwall midfielder George Saville.
Boro wanted to sign Saville on deadline day, but at that stage, Millwall were not prepared to listen to offers for the central midfielder.
However, Saville has reportedly told the Lions that he would be keen to move on, and Tony Pulis is now hopeful of doing a deal.
Boro are prepared to sign Saville on loan, with a view to making the move permanent in January for £5 million.
Saville would add energy and tenacity to Boro’s midfield ranks, as Pulis looks to strengthen further in the position.
The Northern Irish international has played four times for Millwall this season, but his form has dipped slightly from what it was last year, amid speculation over his future.
Boro are thought to still be chasing additions, as they look to spend some of the money which they raised for Adama Traore’s sale to Wolverhampton Wanderers late on in the transfer window.
