Rangers sacked Pedro Caixinha on Tuesday, after a disappointing seven months at Ibrox.

Gattuso, who spent 15 months as a Rangers player in the late 1990s, is currently in charge of AC Milan’s Primavera (under-19) team.

However, the Italian, a Champions League and World Cup winner as a player, has experienced a turbulent career in management so far.
He has also had spells at FC Sion and Palermo, where he worked with former Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty before being sacked within months by both clubs, and later resigned from roles at OFI Crete and AC Pisa.
Speaking to the BBC at a tribute match for former Rangers defender Fernando Ricksen in 2015, Gattuso admitted: “My dream is to maybe one day to have the chance to work for this club.”
However, despite his popularity in Glasgow, Gattuso’s appointment as manager would likely underwhelm the Ibrox faithful.
According to the Independent, Rangers also hope to speak to another of their former players, Frank de Boer, along with Derek McInnes (Aberdeen) and David Moyes.
