Tottenham Hotspur managerial target Luciano Spalletti has just won Serie A with Napoli, but it seems that there is a chance that the Italian manager could leave at the end of the season.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti on his website, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on appointing Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti as their new manager.

Spurs are on the hunt for a permanent new manager at the moment.

Ryan Mason is in charge of the Tottenham first team until the end of the season.

Italian journalist Galetti has reported on his website that there is no guarantee that Spalletti will stay at Napoli beyond the end of the season despite guiding the team to the Serie A title this season.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has formally activated the option to extend the Italian manager’s contract until 2024.

However, “Spalletti is not entirely convinced to remain” at Napoli next season, according to Galetti.

The former AS Roma boss needs guarantees in the transfer market to keep his Napoli team competitive.

Luciano Spalletti boost for Tottenham Hotspur

In our view, that there is a chance that Luciano Spalletti could leave Napoli at the end of the season is a boost for Tottenham Hotspur.

Described as a “genius” by former Real Madrid player Antonio Cassano in August 2022, Spalletti is a brilliant tactician who would be a very good managerial appointment for Tottenham.

The Italian likes his football free-flowing and attacking, and his extensive experience would enhance Tottenham’s chances of success.

Former England head coach Fabio Capello rates Spalletti highly, saying that what his Italian compatriot has done at Napoli “is a miracle”.
