Arsenal boss Unai Emery is reportedly wanted by AC Milan.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, AC Milan’s Ivan Gazidis is interested in raiding former club Arsenal for manager Unai Emery this summer.
Milan have enjoyed a decent season under Gennaro Gattuso, sitting fourth in the Serie A table, potentially on the verge of a return to the Champions League.
Despite that, Gattuso’s future seems unclear, with a number of managers being linked with summer moves to the San Siro – and a shock rumour has emerged today.
Tuttomercatoweb claim that Milan are now interested in Arsenal boss Emery, as chief executive Ivan Gazidis is seemingly keen on raiding his former club.
Gazidis announced he was leaving Arsenal for Milan in September 2018, assuming the role in December, and he’s now eyeing up a move to lure Emery away from the Emirates Stadium.
Emery joined Arsenal last summer, penning a £6million-a-year deal according to The Mirror, meaning he earns around £115,000-a-week with the Gunners.
His first season has gone fairly well, with Arsenal competing for a Champions League place in the first post-Arsene Wenger season, and more progress will be expected moving forward.
A move to AC Milan seems like something of a sideways switch right now, but Milan may be able to offer a huge transfer budget as Gazidis plots a move.
