According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth coach Graeme Jones has now been given permission to speak to Newcastle United.
It’s claimed that Jones formally asked Bournemouth to be given the chance to speak to Newcastle on Saturday.
The Cherries have seemingly accepted his request, and Jones will now discuss a move to Newcastle, which would be somewhat emotional for the 50-year-old.
Jones hails from Gateshead in the North East, and his father was a die-hard Newcastle fan who wouldn’t even let Sunderland fans into his house.
Heading to the Magpies would therefore be hugely appealing to Jones, whilst Steve Bruce is looking for a new coach to help him save his job.
Newcastle lost 2-0 to Aston Villa on Saturday night, and Bruce finds himself under huge pressure to turn the form around.

Jones is an experienced coach who notably worked with Roberto Martinez for the Belgian national team at the 2018 World Cup.
He recently had a stint as Luton Town boss before working with Jason Tindall at Bournemouth, and he will now be charged with the task of helping Newcastle turn a corner under Bruce.
