Celtic are reportedly set to bring Garry Parker back to the club.
According to the Daily Record, Neil Lennon is preparing his first move as Celtic’s full-time manager – bringing back former assistant Garry Parker.
Celtic clinched the Scottish Cup on Saturday afternoon, coming from a goal down to beat Hearts 2-1 at Hampden Park thanks to an Odsonne Edouard brace.
With the celebrations in full flow after completing a third straight domestic treble, Celtic then announced that Lennon had been handed the job on a permanent basis having been working as interim manager since February.
Lennon has so far been keeping Celtic moving in the right direction, but now he has the chance to put his stamp on the side – and his first move since landing the job permanently appears to be imminent.
The Daily Record report that Lennon wants to reunite with his former right hand man Garry Parker, and the Englishman is already ‘excited’ about his likely return to Parkhead.
Parker, 53, played with Lennon at Leicester City, then became his First Team Coach at both Celtic and Bolton Wanderers, before then becoming his assistant at Hibernian.
Parker left Hibs alongside Lennon earlier this year, and whilst John Kennedy and Damien Duff have been working alongside Lennon so far, it now looks likely that Parker will come back to Celtic to aid Lennon once again.
