The pair worked together extensively at Swansea City.
Leeds United are said to be interested in a move for Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton this summer, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
They claim that Leeds could make a move for the veteran midfielder this summer to bring some experience into the midfield area.
Of course he is a player well known to new Leeds boss Garry Monk, who managed and played alongside him at the Liberty Stadium for many years.
Britton is now 33-years-old and no longer at his best but was one of the stars of the Swansea side that worked their way to the Premier League and initially shone in the top-flight. With his fantastic passing ability and technical prowess, he has been wistfully compared to Barcelona legend Xavi for many years in South Wales.
Britton has previous in Yorkshire. He spent half a season at Sheffield United in 2010-11, a move he seemingly went on to regret and he returned to Swansea after just five months at Bramall Lane.
Leeds would however be hopeful of luring him, with Monk a definite advantage in any pursuit. The midfielder has also struggled to be as regular a first-team player as he used to at Swansea – featuring just 32 times in the past two seasons.
He does however have 128 Premier League appearances under his belt and Leeds would be bringing in a shrewd addition if this deal does have legs.
