Leeds United youngster Ronaldo Vieira looks set to make a breakthrough at Elland Road this season.
According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Garry Monk and his coaching staff have been very impressed by Ronaldo Vieira over pre-season.
Vieira is only 17-years-old, but he appears to be the next talent set to break through at Elland Road.
Leeds are short of options in central midfield, and Monk wants to add another player in that area following the departure of Lewis Cook to Bournemouth.
However, Monk will not want to block the progress of Vieira, who has reportedly caught his eye.
Vieira made the breakthrough at Leeds last season, and he was handed his debut by Steve Evans against Preston North End.
How often the youngster will start for Leeds next term remains to be seen, but he is expected to stay around the first-team squad.
Vieira has already excelled at development squad level, and he is regarded as Leeds’ best up-and-coming talent.
If Vieira does break into Leeds’ first-team, he will join the likes of Charlie Taylor and Alex Mowatt – who have progressed from the youth team to become senior players for the Yorkshire side.
