Dele Alli’s recent conduct has caused major debate – and Gareth Southgate is now set to get involved.

According to The Mirror, England manager Gareth Southgate is planning to hold talks with Spurs midfielder Dele Alli this week about his discipline.
Alli, 21, has become one of English football’s biggest stars since joining Spurs from MK Dons in 2015, as the midfielder has hit 35 goals in just 104 games for Tottenham.
Alli’s goalscoring ability has seen him lauded, but his temperament and conduct have seen him hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons too.

Recently, Alli was given a one-game suspension for a middle finger gesture in England’s win over Slovakia, whilst he has been criticised in recent days for his actions against Huddersfield Town.
Alli was booked for a clear dive against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, going down under a ‘challenge’ from Jonas Lossl in a bid to win a penalty.
Now, The Mirror report that, whilst Alli will be suspended for England’s World Cup qualifier against Slovenia on Thursday, his call-up to the England squad will give manager Gareth Southgate a chance to hold talks with Alli.

Southgate allegedly has a major concern, in that any more actions like his swearing against Slovakia or his dive against Huddersfield could lead to Alli missing key England games – and the England boss wants to stamp that out.
Alli’s mean streak makes him the player he is, but the misdemeanours are becoming more and more common – and it’s no wonder that Southgate is concerned, especially heading towards next summer’s World Cup.
