Galatasaray are said to be keen on signing Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony.

Galatasaray are the latest club to show an interest in signing Stoke City loanee Wilfried Bony, according to a report.

The Sun claims that the Turkish giants are sending staff to England to negotiate the transfer, although they are quite a way off agreeing terms with the Ivorian’s parent club Manchester City.

Bony has been on the Citzens’ books for a little more than two years but it hasn’t been a successful time for him, scoring just 10 goals and mainly being used off the bench before Pep Guardiola decided he was surplus to requirements this campaign.

The loan move to Stoke has proven similarly ineffectual. Bony has only netted twice, both coming in the same game against his former club Swansea City, and he hasn’t made a first team appearance this calendar year.

The same newspaper had earlier this month reported that West Ham were favourites to sign the player, with Everton and West Brom also interested.

One advantage Galatasaray have over these sides is Turkey’s low tax rate for high earners, which has helped them to bring in the likes of Lukas Podolski, Wesley Sneijder and Nigel de Jong.

As for West Ham, their location in the capital, the fact Bony knows his game is suited to the Premier League and the presence of his former team-mate Andre Ayew – who could perhaps sell the club to him – are all be factors they will hope can persuade Bony to choose them instead.

His physicality would also give the Hammers an alternative to Andy Carroll who can play in a similar fashion but whoever signs the 28-year-old will hope he can find his Swansea form of 26 goals in 54 top flight games rather than that which he’s shown since 2015.
