Report: Galatasaray interested in West Bromwich Albion-owned Newcastle United striker Salomon Rondon

Salomon Rondon, on loan at Newcastle United from West Bromwich Albion, is reportedly on the radar of Galatasaray.

According to Takvim, Galatasaray are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion-owned Newcastle United striker Salomon Rondon in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that scouts from Galatasaray will follow the 29-year-old striker for the rest of the season and will report to the Turkish club’s manager Fatih Terim.

The Venezuela international striker joined Premier League club Newcastle on a season-long loan deal from Championship side West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 2018.

The former Rubin Kazan and Zenit Saint Petersburg striker has made 26 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle so far this season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Galatasaray or Newcastle United?

Newcastle are a massive club and the Magpies do look certain to stay in the Premier League, but Galatasaray are huge as well and regularly challenge for major trophies.

Galatasaray are aiming to win the Turkish Super Lig this season, and they could also feature in the Champions League during the 2019-20 campaign – a factor that could sway Rondon to move there.
