Fulham will offer Rui Fonte to European clubs after the English transfer window closed on Thursday, according to the Daily Mirror’s printed edition (August 13th, page 47).

The Portuguese forward cost Fulham £8 million in 2017, but only scored three goals and made another two in 25 Championship appearances last season.

And after a productive summer for the newly promoted Cottagers, who added Andre Schurrle and Luciano Vietto to last season’s attack, Fonte is reportedly free to leave.

However, it remains to be seen how much of their initial outlay Fulham are looking to recoup for the 28-year-old former Arsenal, Sporting, Benfica and Braga player.

Fonte was linked with a move to Olympiacos earlier this week, although a stint in French football may appeal after his brother Jose’s recent transfer to Lille.

The older Fonte signed for Les Dogues on a free transfer, less than six months after he was sold by West Ham United for £5 million.
