According to 90Min, Fulham are interested in signing Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

This may seem like something of an outlandish transfer rumour, but FootballLeagueWorld also reported the same information at the same time, and it’s very rare that you get two outlets reporting the same story if there isn’t an element of truth to it.

Apparently, Aleksandar Mitrovic is pushing for Fulham to sign his Serbia teammate this summer, and while Mitrovic isn’t Fulham’s Director of Football, he has a history of recommending signings to the Whites.

Indeed, back in 2019, Lazar Markovic was signed on January deadline day off the back of a recommendation from Mitrovic.

Admittedly though, Milinkovic-Savic is a much bigger name than Markovic.

The Lazio ace has long been touted as one of the best midfielders in Europe, and he’s even been the subject of a £55m bid from PSG in the past.

Fulham will have to cough up some serious cash if they want to get this one over the line, but Shahid Khan is one of the richest owners in the country, and the Craven Cottage outfit often do have a trick up their sleeve in the transfer market – just look at the signing of Jean-Michael Seri in 2018, Fulham beat the likes of Barcelona and Chelsea to his signature.

Milinkovic-Savic joining Fulham would be outlandish, but stranger things have happened.
