Fulham want to sign a new midfielder on deadline day with Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek and FC Rostov’s Mathias Normann on Scott Parker’s radar, according to the Mail.
It almost goes without saying at this point that the Cottagers need a new centre-half. But do not assume that Fulham are only looking at defenders in the final few hours of the transfer window.
Parker’s struggling side were much improved during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Wolves, although they still lacked the control, cutting edge or creativity to open up Nuno Espirito Santo’s backline on a regular basis.
Tom Cairney and Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa showed some glimpses of quality at Molineux.
But, if the Mail is to be believed, Fulham are prioritising a box-to-box powerhouse capable of turning defence into attack with a lung-busting burst.
Loftus-Cheek would tick a lot of boxes, then, with Fulham trying to sign the England international on loan from London neighbours Chelsea.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has already suggested that Loftus-Cheek would benefit from a loan spell away from Stamford Bridge, having fallen behind Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and co in the pecking order.
Normann, like ‘RLC’, is a technically-gifted powerhouse of a midfielder.
The £20 million-rated Norwegian is one of the most impressive footballers in Russia today and, interestingly, spent two years at Brighton before making his mark in northern Europe.
