Could Ezri Konsa make the short trip across London from Brentford to their Championship rivals Fulham?

Fulham are keen to reinforce their famously leaky backline by raiding London and Championship rivals Brentford for the highly-rated Ezri Konsa, according to Sky Sports.
The Cottagers’ defence was nothing short of a joke in the Premier League last season. Conceding 81 goals in just 38 games, the highest in the division by a country mile, Fulham’s error-prone ways meant they had no chance of retaining their top flight status for more than a single, disastrous campaign.
And unless they can improve upon their current options, including the haphazard Maxime Le Marchand and the injury-hit Alfie Mawson, a play-off push looks unlikely.
But claims that they are looking to bring England U21 star Konsa to Craven Cottage suggest that new Fulham boss Scott Parker knows exactly where he needs to strengthen.

The 21-year-old only joined Brentford from Charlton Athletic last summer, but with a £12 million release clause in his contract, it is not inconceivable that he could be on his way out of Griffin Park before the new season kicks off.
A defender blessed with pace and power, Konsa also boasts excellent reading of the game and the ability to bring the ball out of defence with real class and composure. Former Charlton boss Karl Robinson even told London News Online that he was the best young defender in England during his time at The Valley.
So this would surely be £12 million well spent.
