Fulham are reportedly keen on signing the Cardiff City man.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Fulham are prepared to trigger Cardiff City ace Joe Bennett’s £2 million release clause this summer.
The 28-year-old left-back was a key player for the Bluebirds last season, making 41 appearances in all competitions, and the Welsh outfit will surely not want to lose him.
They have little say in the matter, however, according to the Daily Mail, who suggest that Fulham are ready to match Bennett’s £2 million release clause.
Good signing for Fulham?
The Cottagers will surely be looking to bolster their left flank department this summer, with the future of Ryan Sessegnon at Craven Cottage looking uncertain to say the least.
Bennett would be an extremely solid addition to Slaviša Jokanović’s squad, and his ability to play anywhere down the left hand side could prove to be vital to them next season, especially if Sessegnon does in fact leave, as is expected.
The Cardiff man is the type of player who will never give anything less than 100 per cent, and those are exactly the kind of characters that Fulham will need in the Premier League next term.
The Daily Mail claims that Neil Warnock is desperate to keep hold of Bennett, and that in itself says all there is to say about the 28-year-old.
