Rangers ace Rob Kiernan is being linked with a move back to England.

According to the Daily Mail, Fulham are lining up a move to sign Rangers defender Rob Kiernan during the January transfer window, in a move which could cost around £2million.

The Gers swooped to sign Kiernan, 25, from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2015, as he became one of Mark Warburton’s first signings at Ibrox having worked together at Watford and Brentford.

Rangers beat Birmingham City to his signature, and the former Republic of Ireland youth international went on to play 45 times for the Gers last season as they won promotion to the Scottish Premiership and even reached the Scottish Cup final.

This term, Kiernan has faced new competition for places, with Clint Hill and Philippe Senderos arriving over the summer, but he’s still been a regular for Warburton this term, playing 21 times so far this season.

Now, it appears that Kiernan’s performances have attracted interest, as the Daily Mail report that Championship side Fulham are interested in luring the central defender back to English footbal.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side are going well this season, and sit just four points off the play-off places, with Jokanovic no doubt keen to add new faces to his squad in January.

Jokanovic does have a number of central defenders at his disposal, with Tomas Kalas, Ragnar Sigurdsson, Tim Ream and Michael Madl all available, but with Kalas only on loan from Chelsea, a move for Kiernan may be seen as a longer-term solution at the back.

However, the report adds that Kiernan may cost £2million, with Rangers demanding a high price for a defender who has been an integral part of Warburton’s side since his arrival 18 months ago.
