The winger has been in fine form for Peterborough United, attracting interest from several Championship clubs including Fulham.
Fulham are leading the chase for Peterborough United winger Marcus Maddison, according to the Daily Mail.
Maddison is said to be a target for a host of Championship clubs after scoring six goals and creating another 10 in 23 League One appearances this season.
But it is Fulham, the Daily Mail reports, who are in pole position, with manager Slavisa Jokanovic believing the 23-year-old can make the step up to the second tier – of which the Cottagers are in contention to climb out of this season.
Peterborough’s Marcus Maddison celebrates
Left-footed Maddison was released by Newcastle United as a teenager, but rebuild his career with non-league Gateshead, via a brief unsuccessful spell at St Johnstone.
From there, the former England C international was picked up by Peterborough, a club renowned for developing the careers of those who have come from similar backgrounds – notably Championship stars Dwight Gayle and Britt Assombalonga, as well as the Burnley midfielder George Boyd.
Newcastle United’s Dwight Gayle is the Football League’s highest scorer this season
And Fulham, who have today allowed Cauley Woodrow and Lasse Vigen Christensen to join Burton Albion on loan, will hope that Maddison can enjoy similar success if he is to move to Craven Cottage.
Would Maddison be a good signing for Fulham?
