According to 90Min, Fulham are looking at loaning Manchester United’s Phil Jones.
Jones would certainly be an interesting addition at Craven Cottage, and there’s reason to believe he’d be a rousing success under Marco Silva.
Yes, Jones has become a bit of a joke figure at Manchester United in recent years, but away from the funny faces and injury problems, there’s a very talented player in there. After all, you don’t get 27 England caps and win the Premier League unless you’ve got something about you.
Fulham could probably do with a couple more additions before the deadline next week, but the reality is that it’s hard to see them adding another centre-back to their ranks.
The Whites already have seven senior centre-halves at the club with Tosin, Tim Ream, Alfie Mawson, Maxime Le Marchand, Terence Kongolo, Michael Hector and Denis Odoi all contenders in that position.
An eighth centre-back would be overkill, but it’s not every day you can sign a player like Jones when you’re a Championship club.
Marco Silva’s side would probably need to get a couple of players off the books before going ahead with this one, but this is certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming days.
