Rajiv Van La Parra was keen on a return to England with the likes of Queens Park Rangers and Swansea City but, according to Voetbal International, he has signed a short-term deal with UD Logrones instead.

Perhaps the former Wolverhampton Wanderers winger grew tired of waiting for an opportunity to arrive.

The 2020/21 season is already three months old and Van La Parra had been out of the game long enough, having left Serbian powerhouse Red Star Belgrade in April.

VI reports that Swansea, QPR, Reading and Ipswich Town were genuinely interested in bringing the 29-year-old winger back to Britain, while the man himself appeared to have his heart set on moving closer to his half-brother Gini Wijnaldum.

But with genuine offers slow to arrive Van La Parra couldn’t turn down the chance to finally kick a ball again, with his latest move taking the nomadic attacker to Spain for the first time.

The Dutchman has signed a deal with Logrones until the end of the season, by which point he will be a free agent once more.

Perhaps he feels an impressive spell in the Spanish second tier will once again open the door for a return to English soil.

Van La Parra played more than 150 league games with Wolves, Huddersfield Town and Middlesbrough, scoring eight goals in the process.
