According to Tuttomercatoweb, AC Milan are focusing on a new deal for midfielder Franck Kessie following interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
It’s claimed that Milan offered Kessie an initial deal worth around €4million-a-year – equivalent to around £65,000-a-week – in order to stay at the San Siro.
The midfielder hasn’t signed that deal though, and Milan will have to go in with a higher offer if they’re to keep the Ivorian.
They want the deal done by the start of the new Serie A season, which starts on the weekend of the 22nd of August.
Kessie is inside the final year of his contract now, and Milan seemingly want to know soon whether they need to sell or whether he’s staying put.
Eurosport claimed just a matter of days ago that Tottenham have a very strong interest in signing Kessie and will make a move if they receive encouragement that he is interested.

Fabio Paratici has a great knowledge of the Italian market, so it’s no great surprise that he is interested in landing Kessie for Tottenham.
Kessie is an all-action midfielder, smashing 14 goals in all competitions last season, and at 24 he still has huge potential to develop in the coming years.
Tottenham will be eyeing these contract talks closely, and if Milan can’t reach Kessie’s demands, Paratici may well be able to swoop in.
