Betra was managed by Lee Bullen, the former Falkirk employee, in Sheffield Wednesday’s Under-21s.
The former Sheffield Wednesday striker Franck Betra has been on trial with Falkirk, according to the Falkirk Herald.
Betra was released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of the 2016-17 season, having endured a couple of injury stricken campaigns.
The Frenchman spent the following term playing for PAS Giannina FC in Greece’s top division, but is again without a club.
The Falkirk Herald reports that Betra is one of two unattached strikers to have auditioned with the Bairns, alongside the former Watford player Ola Adeyemo, while another is set to arrive from Norway.
And it is possible the 21-year-old was brought to their attention by the Sheffield Wednesday first team coach, Lee Bullen, a former Falkirk employee and Betra’s old boss with the Owls’ Under-21s.
Betra and Bullen – who also played in Greek football – have remained in touch since the former’s departure from Hillsborough.
