Report: Former Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino considering second sacking this season

Massimo Cellino left Leeds United this summer to take over at Brescia.

When Massimo Cellino left Leeds United in the summer, much of the chaos which surrounded his reign left with him.

The Italian was notorious for sacking managers, and current boss Thomas Christiansen surely would not have survived the axe this season during Leeds’ poor spell had Cellino been in charge.

Cellino is now the current owner at Italian Serie B side Brescia, and is having a frustrating time.

After taking over in mid-August, Cellino took until just early October to fire incumbent manager Roberto Bocaglia.

The problem is that in the weeks since, Brescia’s form has not improved.

Cellino’s choice of replacement was Pasquale Marino, and he has not fared well either.

Marino has earned only eight points from eight games and Brescia sit in a lowly 16th place.

Italian outlet Il Giorno report Cellino is considering making another managerial change, and Marino may only have one game left to save his job.

Brescia’s next game is against 10th placed Salernitana.

A fortnight ago Cellino had written a public letter to a newspaper in Italy criticising the club’s players, Brescia Oggi reported.

Leeds’ season may be a bumpy ride on the pitch this year, but off the field Massimo Cellino is not missed.
