The German side are said to be interested in a reunion with the Austrian international.
Reports in Germany are suggesting that FC Koln are hoping to make a move for their former player and current Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Wimmer in the winter.
Last summer Spurs spent a fee reported to be in the region of £4.3 million, according to the Guardian, on bringing the Austrian to White Hart Lane. After an impressive first season at the club he has slipped down the pecking order this term and it appears his former team believe they can tempt him back – perhaps on loan.

Kicker are reporting that the German side are in need of a new defender, with Mergim Mavraj joining Hamburg from the 1st January.
Wimmer is one option for the club, with Borussia Dortmund’s Mikel Merino another.
The Austrian had an excellent first season with Spurs. He stepped up whilst Jan Vertonghen was injured in the second-half of the season. His performances impressed so much he was handed a new contract at Spurs.

But this summer saw Cameron Carter-Vickers usurp him in the Spurs pecking order and Wimmer has been struggling for football this term, with Eric Dier dropping back in the case of Toby Alderweireld’s injury.
So a loan deal back to familiar surroundings might not be the end of the world for the Spurs star.
